Safely operate his or her heavy truck along his or her designated route and to the disposal site; read route sheet, follow map and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher and/or supervisor. Operate manual and/or automatic controls in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures to lift and load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of collected material at the designated facility. Courteously interact with all customers, dispatchers and others on a daily basis to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner. Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers in accordance with applicable departmental procedures. Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste. Clean area around an accidental waste spill, ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standards and policies. Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip. Complete required route/productivity sheets, VCRs and other reports, as required. Maintain adherence to required productivity standards for the department to ensure all customers are serviced in a timely and efficient manner. Follow all required safety policies and procedures. Actively participate in the Company s ReSOP program. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Responsibilities include warehousing and material handling, loading and unloading trucks (includes lifting in excess of 100 pounds), inventory control, route management, and daily inspection of vehicle to ensure proper maintenance is performed as well as waiting on customers and offering assistance.
The products offered at this site are various types of roofing materials.
This position starts at 7 a.m. working at least 8 hours a day unless behind on work. When the plant works overtime it is required by the employee to do so as well. In a typical week employees will put in about 40 - 45 hours per week give or take.
Daily operations will have the employee drive a curtainside with trailer mounted mofit about 70% of the time and work in the warehouse the other 30%.
Successful candidates will possess HS Diploma or equivalent, 2 years driving experience, effective communication and organizational skills, must have an attention to detail and safety awareness, positive and professional demeanor, outstanding attendance record, stable work history, strong customer service background and good driving record required.

MAIN TASKS/JOB DUTIES/GOALS: This job requires intense lifting of up to 170 lbs per stop ALL in-house training prior to being on a route individually Reports to Transportation Manager Must possess a CDL Class B or can acquire a CDL permit prior to interview Deliver orders, samples, and POS materials to customers based on a daily established route Drive and operate a HWB vehicle Collect customer payments based on specified invoice terms Comply with daily check-in/check-out procedures Ensure vehicle is maintained and report any issues immediately to operations/warehouse manager Maintain a valid Virginia driver----??s license at all times Maintain a valid health health card at all times Other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor
