The Arlington County Department of Human Services has a recovery and best practice oriented mission, and the psychiatrist/nurse practitioner will have the opportunity to be a part of projects which are at the forefront of mental health service delivery, including health care integration and innovative access models. This is an hourly contract position with a minimum of 8 hours weekly required. This community-oriented "Psychiatrist or Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner" will work on an interdisciplinary outpatient team focused on older adults and individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The psychiatrist/nurse practitioner will work closely with the treatment team to develop and implement interdisciplinary, recovery focused treatment. The position entails the following work expectations: Diagnostic psychiatric evaluations; Ongoing psychiatric management, including psychopharmacologic treatment, appropriate forms of psychotherapeutic support, and as needed crisis intervention in collaboration with the treatment team; Assuring comprehensive healthcare needs are identified and treated and the people served are educated about their illness and given health management information and techniques; Team consultation and clinical supervision, and participation in interdisciplinary treatment planning meetings; Documentation of clinical care in the electronic clinical record; Backup physician/nurse practitioner coverage as needed to Division outpatient services; and/or Participation in performance plan with specific benchmarks associated with incentive payment.
Minimum: An MD. from an accredited Medical school and graduation from an Accredited Residency Program in Psychiatry: OR Master of Science in Nursing, ANCC; Certification as a Board Certified Psychiatric and/or Mental Health Nurse Practitioner; Must be licensed (or licensable) to practice medicine or nursing in the State of Virginia; and Must have a Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license with prescriptive authority. Desirables: Board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology; Sub-speciality certification in Geriatric Psychiatry; Experience in an outpatient community setting working intensively with patients with serious mental illness and substance abuse; Multidisciplinary team experience; Spanish-speaking Experience with senior adult mental health treatment and/or work with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities

Essential Job Functions:
As a fully qualified Black Belt (BB), be capable of independently performing all of the functions required with little to no supervision.
As a journeyman CPI practitioner and technical expert, facilitate cross-functional and multi-discipline initiatives, working with team leads to prioritize work, assign actions, direct/coordinate the efforts of assigned team members, develop project schedules,
review work, and report status.
Train individuals in CPI principles and toolsets, including providing Yellow Belt, Green Belt, and Project Sponsor training in support of the deployment of CPI across all of the JPO. Conduct process improvement training and consulting during the execution
of CPI activities, applying the principles of Lean, Six Sigma and Theory of Constraints and other methods appropriate to the topic.
Mentor Green Belts and, in some cases, more junior BBs, in such toolsets as Theory of Constraints, Kaizen/Lean principles, DMAICV (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control-Validate), DFLSS (Design for Lean-Six Sigma), DMADV (Define-Measure-Analyze-Design-Verify),
Apply process analysis and flow analysis with advanced process improvement techniques, such as value stream mapping and simulations, to investigate organizational operations to identify improvements.
Keep abreast of new developments in the areas of process improvement.
Conduct studies, technical surveys, tracking, analysis, and prepares reports and recommendations for assessments and identified process improvements in the operating and organizational effectiveness of the area assigned.
Perform analytical studies and incorporate customer input on major processes in order to continually improve the core functional processes of the Command.
Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
A BS or BA degree or an MS or MA degree.
At least ten (10) years of experience in program management, technical, or business analysis discipline, related to weapon systems acquisition and life cycle management; and a minimum of six (6) years out of 10 years of recent work experience related to analysis
Accredited Black Belt (BB) training and qualification within the past ten (10) years and experience in DoD applications such as at NAVAIR AIRSpeed Offices or equivalent A minimum of three (3) out of the past five years must be practical and implementation experience.
Mastery of process improvement techniques to include but not limited to: Lean, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, benchmarking, metric/statistical analysis, process management and improvement, and process flow charting. Certified as a CPI practitioner at the
Knowledgeable with DoD Directive (DODD) 5010.42, DoD-Wide Continuous Process Improvement/Lean Six Sigma Program, and SAE AS9100D Quality Management Systems - Requirements for Aviation, Space, and Defense Organizations.
Possess a high degree of self-initiative, and the ability to work independently and function as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Read below for more requirements.As an ER Travel Nurse, you will work with a diverse team of caregivers to appropriately evaluate, triage and implement care using correct procedures and physician instructions. RNs should have experience and skill caring for patients in a fast-paced, urgent and emergency environment.Emergency Room RNs will perform minor medical operations, advise patients and family on illnesses or injuries, and plan long-term care needs. Other responsibilities as an ER Travel Nurse include documenting medical history, checking for any allergies patients might have, obtaining patient vital signs, and monitoring patients' emotional and physical well-being.As an ER Travel Nurse, you should be prepared to perform the following tasks:* Provide basic bedside care.* Clean and bandage wounds.* Provide IV therapy.* Maintain supplies and medical equipment.* Report suspected abuse to appropriate agencies.ER Travel Nurses should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean and stoop without difficulty.
